Registered Tobiano
Mustang Sammy known to us at home as Muz or Mustang,
is a 15.3hh 9 year old chestnut and white Tobiano. He is ¼ clyde, stationbred
x. He is by a coloured stallion called Zealando Native Warrior and out of a coloured
mare called Harvest Moon also known as Tango who has now been sold on to Taiwan
as a showjumper and is apparently doing very well. Mustang was bred in Te Kuiti
and sold to Ladbrook Stud in the South Island at 9 months old.
I purchased Mustang as a 4 year old and broke him in soon after he arrived, he
proved to have a great nature and was extremely quiet to ride. His early training
included road riding with mares and geldings, jumping at home and even indoor
jumping at Tielcey Park. He was schooling 1.10m, had plenty of scope and certainly
had potential for more. Mustang went to a couple of sports days and then sadly
fractured a front leg.
Mustang
was sent to Massey University in Palmerston North for surgery on his leg and now
is a stud stallion only.
He has produced many coloured foals which you can view on the Progeny
Page and Outside Progeny Page, all
with exceptional quiet natures like his.
